They prefer AI music because it’s cheaper and more profitable than paying real artists. The concern is that real musicians may get pushed aside instead of being fairly paid.

Ugh. This is so revealing of how they truly think. It’s not about helping you discover great artists, or to celebrate great music. Instead it’s about “monthly active users”, “content minutes”, and who knows what other MBA metrics. A clear sign of enshittification, right from the top.
Imagine if they’d said “music is one of the things that makes us human. At Spotify we celebrate the creativity and skill of great musicians”. But no. Fsck those guys.
